Music Magazine: Interview Draft

Music Magazine: Main Feature Article

Today I’m sitting here in the studio with the lovely girls Sophia and Isabella from Tetra, we’re lucky enough that they’ve taken time out of their busy schedule to have a quick chat. When the news came they’re headlining Everglade, one of the biggest house concerts in Europe, we just had to get the gossip on the new hit stars.
So girls..

Have you always known that you wanted a career in music or is it a bit unexpected?
Sophia: Well to be honest it all was a bit sudden  we literally cannot believe it, we’re getting paid for going out and partying. House music has always been our passion and now we’re getting paid to do what we love. For us it’s not just the fame, obviously its a bonus but we’re here for the music.
Isabella: I’ve always dreamed of being a famous Dj and when we got noticed on our first gig we just knew we had to take the shot. It started out as a hobby, just me and Soph producing a couple of tracks in my house. We’ve gone from Glow, a small club in our home town, too Everglade! You don’t even understand how buzzed we are.
How does it feel to have shot to fame so quickly? It’s crazy how far you’ve come!
Sophia: Well like Isabella said, one minute we’re in a small club in our hometown and the next we’re headlining one of the biggest house concerts in Europe. I can’t believe how lucky we are, one thing that’s shocked me is how great the fans are! I love their page and name ‘the tetrads’, they seem to know things about me that I don’t even know myself.
Isabella: This is my dream, and to share it with my best friend is amazing. It’s a massive change… like I’m walking down the street and people are asking to take pictures with me, it’s mad. We would’ve been stupid to have not taken the opportunity and the fact it’s come about so quickly is a bonus. If we’d have thought about it too much it would’ve taken off our edge, we’re known for our spontaneity.
Whilst we’re on the subject of fans, we have a question from your Tetrad’s fan page… Can we get any hints at the support act you’re going to bring out at Everglade?
Sophia: We made a pact before this that we wouldn’t tell but let’s just say that you will all love them.
Isabella: You definitely won’t be expecting it. (smile at each other)
You’re driving your fans insane, they are known for a being a little bit wild!  What’s the craziest thing a fans done for you?
Isabella: (laughs) Wild but we wouldn’t change them for the world. When leaving a club one time this guy came up to us and asked me to sign his forehead, yes his forehead! Later that evening I was checking our tweets and I came across this picture, the guy had only gone and got the signature tattooed on! I was in shock, that’s for life. It just shows how much our fans will do for us.
Sophia: A stupid yet touching move.
I’ve got to find this guy... Everglade is approaching soon, we’re all so excited, how does it feel to have sold out the 02 arena?
Sophia: When our manager rung us about the news we were ecstatic, Isabella was literally jumping around for ages. To be honest, I had to get a drink in her. You can’t even describe the feeling.
Isabella: We want to thank you all so much for what you’ve done for us, without you we couldn’t be living our dreams. Everglade has been something we’ve both loved watching since we were little, so many big house artists have performed and to be one of them is literally the best thing in the world.
How do you get your personal chill time? You always seem to be so busy!
Isabella: Music is our personal time, clubbing is what we do, what we did anyway.
Sophia: Obviously we have some free time but most of that is spent still producing new tracks, at the minute we can’t get enough. We’re still able to see friends and family just as much because they’re their supporting us all the way.
In your opinion how have you stayed humble? What's brought you back down to reality?
Sophia: From the start it was just like, let's do this produce music, throw parties and have a blast. For us I don’t think it was ever solely about the money or fame.
Isabella: I think we’ve kept each other humble, we’re not like most artists. We’re quite unusual and stand out from the crowd, our job is what we love and we said from the start if we noticed even a little bit of change in the ourselves or the other we’d stop. We don’t want to be driven by the fame. Also again, the support from our family and friends always helps!
It’s nice to hear from artists actually driven by the music for once, who would you say is your biggest musical inspiration of all time?
Isabella: For me, Swedish house Mafia. Honestly they’re like the male version of us. I love the way they see music, they’re not there for the fame but to just have fun whilst performing, like us! Especially since the split, we said we’d do the same if it ever became too much for us and it stops being fun anymore.
Again with the humbleness, where do you picture yourself in three years?
Sophia: Hopefully in a similar place to where we are now, we’re still young and we want to experience it all. We’ve already hit our biggest goal with Everglade so we’re happy with anything.
Isabella: Definitely, if it get’s too much we will stop. But I hope it never gets to that; we love what we do, we love our fans and we will be forever grateful for this opportunity we had.
Girls, this has honestly been a pleasure. From me and every here at Rave we thank you for taking the timeout to come and speak to us. Best of luck for Everglade, we’ll see you there!
